About the Bedford CF

Launched in 1969 to replace the aging CA, the Bedford CF became a staple of British roads for nearly two decades. It utilised Vauxhall's 'slant-four' overhead-cam engine, tilted at 45 degrees to allow for a lower bonnet line and improved cab space. While it struggled to match the Ford Transit's market dominance, the CF was praised for its independent front suspension and rack-and-pinion steering, which provided car-like handling for a commercial vehicle. Today, it is a cult classic, highly sought after for its nostalgic charm and its history as the base for countless ice cream vans and camper conversions.
