About the Freight Rover Sherpa

The Freight Rover Sherpa 200 Series represents the third major evolution of a design dating back to the BMC J4 of the 1960s. Introduced in 1984, the 200 Series featured a distinctive facelift with square headlamps and plastic bumpers, distinguishing it from the earlier K2 and the wide-bodied 300 Series. Powered by the robust O-Series petrol engine or the Perkins Prima diesel, it was a staple of British fleets, including the Post Office and British Telecom. While its narrow track and leaf-sprung suspension betrayed its age, its simplicity and utility made it a beloved, if unrefined, icon of 1980s British industry.
