About the Audi SQ5 FY
The second-generation Audi SQ5 (FY) initially launched with petrol power in Europe, but the 2019 return of the TDI diesel variant proved to be the definitive choice for long-distance performance. Featuring a 48V mild-hybrid system and an electrically powered compressor (EPC), it virtually eliminates turbo lag by pre-spinning the compressor at low revs. The result is a massive 700 Nm of torque available from just 2,500 rpm, providing effortless overtaking ability. While it lacks the high-revving drama of a petrol engine, its combination of real-world pace and efficiency makes it a highly capable all-rounder.
