About the Audi RS 4 Avant B5
The B5-generation RS 4 Avant was the first model developed entirely by quattro GmbH as a successor to the legendary RS2. Its 2.7-litre biturbo V6 was extensively reworked by Cosworth Technology, featuring enlarged intake and exhaust ports, uprated turbochargers, and strengthened internals to produce a then-staggering 380 PS. Unlike the standard A4, the RS 4 was sold exclusively as an Avant, featuring iconic flared wheel arches and a Torsen-based quattro system. It remains a benchmark for the 'super-estate' genre, prized for its mechanical purity and explosive mid-range boost.
