About the Ariel Atom 4R
The Ariel Atom 4R is a high-performance variant of the fourth-generation Atom, designed to bridge the gap between the standard road car and a full-blown racer. It retains the Honda Civic Type R-sourced 2.0-litre turbocharged engine but sees output increased to 400 bhp through improved cooling and air intake systems. The most significant mechanical change is the addition of a Quaife six-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shifters, enabling lightning-fast gear changes. Visually, the 4R is distinguished by its large side pods, which house additional radiators, and an optional carbon-fibre aerodynamic package including a prominent rear wing. It remains road-legal while offering a level of track focus that rivals dedicated competition machinery.
