About the Audi Coupe B3
The B3-generation Audi Coupe, internally designated Typ 8B, arrived in 1988 as a more sophisticated successor to the original Giugiaro-styled Coupe. While it shared its platform with the B3 80 saloon, it featured a unique liftback body and a revised suspension setup that would later underpin the B4-generation cars. The 2.3E trim was the heart of the range, powered by the smooth 'NG' code 10-valve five-cylinder engine, prized by collectors for its distinctive warbling exhaust note. Its fully galvanised body ensured exceptional longevity, making it a durable alternative to contemporary rivals like the Vauxhall Calibra.
