About the Renault Wind
The Renault Wind is a unique two-seater roadster based on the chassis of the second-generation Twingo. Its defining feature is a single-piece metal roof that rotates 180 degrees to stow under the boot lid in just 12 seconds, maintaining the same 270-litre luggage capacity regardless of roof position. The 1.6-litre variant uses the naturally aspirated engine from the Twingo R.S., providing a rev-happy character and sharp handling tuned by Renault Sport. Despite its clever packaging and engaging driving dynamics, it was a niche product that saw a short production run.

Renault Wind fun facts
- The Wind's rotating roof mechanism was inspired by the Ferrari 575M Superamerica, but engineered to be much faster and more affordable.
- Because the roof flips over rather than folding, the boot space remains a constant 270 litres whether the top is up or down.
- The model was discontinued in the UK after only two years on sale due to slow sales and a restructuring of Renault's UK line-up.
