About the Alpina Roadster S E85
Based on the E85 BMW Z4, the Alpina Roadster S was a bespoke alternative to the later Z4 M, prioritising a broader torque curve and superior ride quality. It features the hand-built E5/2 engine, an evolution of the S52 unit with Mahle pistons and a custom crankshaft, paired exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox. Alpina replaced the standard run-flat tyres with Michelin Pilot Sports on 19-inch 'Dynamic' wheels to improve handling and comfort. With only 370 units produced globally, it remains one of the rarest modern Alpinas and a highly sought-after collector's item.
