About the Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ

The Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ, often called the TZ1, was a purpose-built competition car developed by Autodelta under Carlo Chiti. It featured a sophisticated nickel-chromium steel tubular spaceframe chassis and a lightweight aluminium body by Zagato, incorporating the aerodynamic 'coda tronca' Kamm tail. Powered by the legendary 1.6-litre twin-cam engine, it was canted at an angle to allow for a lower bonnet line. The TZ dominated its class in the mid-1960s, securing victories at the Targa Florio, Le Mans, and the Nürburgring 1000km.
