About the Alfa Romeo Alfa 6

Launched in 1979 as Alfa Romeo's flagship executive saloon, the Alfa 6 (Sei) is historically significant for debuting the 2.5-litre 'Busso' V6 engine. Despite its advanced mechanicals, including a De Dion rear axle and inboard rear disc brakes, the car's development was delayed by the 1973 oil crisis, leaving its styling looking dated by the time of its release. The early 2.5 V6 models are famous for their complex setup of six individual Dell'Orto carburettors, which provided a glorious soundtrack but were notoriously difficult to keep in tune. Rare today due to low production numbers and rust issues, it remains a connoisseur's choice for its engine and surprisingly balanced handling.
