About the Vauxhall Velox PB
The PB-generation Velox was the final model to carry the nameplate, representing a shift towards more restrained, European styling compared to the flamboyant, finned PA series. Introduced in October 1964, the 3.3-litre variant featured a significantly larger engine shared with the Cresta, making it one of the fastest European saloons of its era. While the Cresta was the luxury flagship, the Velox offered the same mechanical prowess in a more understated package, often preferred by police forces for its performance. It was eventually phased out in 1965 as Vauxhall consolidated its large car range under the Cresta and Viscount names.
