About the Volkswagen Touareg 7L

The first-generation Volkswagen Touareg (7L) was a joint development project with Porsche, resulting in a robust platform shared with the Cayenne and Audi Q7. The 3.0 V6 TDI arrived as a mid-range diesel option, offering a balance of torque and efficiency that suited its heavy chassis. It features a sophisticated 4XMOTION permanent four-wheel-drive system with a low-range transfer box and a locking centre differential as standard. While complex to maintain, it remains respected for its genuine off-road capability and high towing capacity of 3,500kg.
