About the Volkswagen Sharan Mk2
The second-generation Volkswagen Sharan, launched in 2010, moved away from the Ford-shared platform of its predecessor to a bespoke Volkswagen Group architecture. The 2015 facelift introduced the 150 PS 2.0 TDI engine, which became the mainstay of the range for its balance of efficiency and torque. Known for its 'EasyFold' seating system and sliding rear doors, it remains one of the few true seven-seaters capable of carrying adults in the third row comfortably. While production ended in 2022 as buyers shifted toward SUVs, it remains a benchmark for MPV packaging and build quality.
