About the Volkswagen Phideon
The Volkswagen Phideon was introduced in 2016 as a China-exclusive flagship saloon, effectively replacing the Phaeton in that market. It was the first Volkswagen-badged vehicle to utilize the Audi-developed MLB (Modular Longitudinal Matrix) platform, sharing its underpinnings with the Audi A6L. The 2.0 TSI variant, designated as the 380 TSI, offers a balance of efficiency and executive comfort, featuring a long wheelbase for significant rear legroom. While designed in Germany, it was manufactured by the SAIC-Volkswagen joint venture to cater specifically to the preferences of Chinese business professionals.
