About the Vauxhall Zafira A
The first-generation Vauxhall Zafira (Zafira A) was a landmark vehicle in the compact MPV segment, developed in collaboration with Porsche. Its defining feature was the patented 'Flex7' seating system, which allowed the two rearmost seats to fold flush into the floor, a world-first that eliminated the need to remove heavy seats for extra cargo space. Based on the Astra G platform, it offered car-like handling and visibility that quickly made it a class leader. The 1.8-litre 16v engine, particularly the Z18XE unit introduced in late 2000, provided a balance of performance and efficiency that suited its role as a versatile family workhorse.
