About the Vauxhall Nova
The Vauxhall Nova SR was the 'warm' alternative to the full-fat GTE, offering accessible performance and sporty looks for a generation of young drivers. Powered by a 1.3-litre OHC engine shared with the larger Astra, its light kerb weight made it surprisingly agile and engaging to drive. Distinguished by its 'blistered' wheel arches, Recaro-style seats, and distinctive vinyl decals, the SR became a cult icon of the UK modifying scene. Today, original, unmolested examples are exceptionally rare and highly sought after by collectors of 1980s nostalgia.
