About the Vauxhall Insignia B
The second-generation Vauxhall Insignia, dubbed the Grand Sport, represented a significant leap forward in design and refinement over its predecessor. Built on GM's E2XX platform, it was up to 175kg lighter than the original Insignia, greatly improving agility and efficiency. The 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine in SRi Nav trim offered a balanced blend of performance and economy, featuring a sleek fastback silhouette that rivalled premium German saloons for presence. As one of the final models developed under General Motors ownership before the brand's sale to PSA, it remains a high-water mark for Vauxhall's traditional large family car lineage.
