About the Toyota TF109
Revealed online in January 2009, the TF109 was the last Formula One car developed by Toyota, which withdrew from the sport after the season. Its double diffuser, like those of the Brawn and Williams, was protested by rivals but ruled legal, and it helped the car to three podiums in the first four races. Form then fell away sharply, though Timo Glock was second in Singapore and Jarno Trulli second in Japan. Kamui Kobayashi, drafted in after Glock was injured in a qualifying crash at Suzuka, scored points in Abu Dhabi in only his second race.
