About the Toyota TF106

The TF106 was Toyota's 2006 car, an evolution of the TF105 designed by Mike Gascoyne, John Litjens and Nicolò Petrucci with Luca Marmorini's RVX-06 V8. Toyota began testing it in November 2005, months earlier than any other team, but the car was off the pace from the opening race in Bahrain. Ralf Schumacher's podium in Australia remained the team's best result, and a B version introduced at Monaco took time to make an impact, with Jarno Trulli scoring his first points in Canada. Toyota finished sixth in the Constructors' Championship with 35 points, down from 88 in 2005.
