About the Toyota Estima XR30/XR40

The second-generation Toyota Estima (known as the Previa in Europe) moved away from the complex mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout of its predecessor in favour of a front-wheel drive platform shared with the Camry. The change allowed a lower floor, making it a more practical family hauler. The 2.4-litre 2AZ-FE engine provided reliable, if modest, performance compared to the V6 alternatives. It remains a popular import choice due to its distinctive 'egg' styling and the availability of high-specification Japanese-market trims.
