About the Toyota Avensis Verso XM20

The Toyota Avensis Verso, known as the Ipsum in Japan and the Picnic in other markets, was a dedicated MPV based on a unique platform rather than a simple estate conversion. The 2.4-litre 2AZ-FE engine, introduced with the 2003 facelift, provided a necessary torque boost for carrying seven passengers and their luggage. While it lacked the sharp handling of European rivals, it excelled in interior flexibility with seats that could be folded, tumbled, or removed entirely. Its low roofline compared to other MPVs gave it a more car-like profile while maintaining a class-leading load area.
