About the Subaru WRX STI VA
The VA-generation WRX STI marked the point where Subaru officially separated the WRX nameplate from the Impreza line. While the standard WRX moved to a newer 2.0-litre engine, the STI retained the legendary EJ257 2.5-litre boxer unit, prized by enthusiasts for its characterful rumble and tuning potential. It features a sophisticated Driver Controlled Centre Differential (DCCD) and a hydraulic steering rack, offering a raw, mechanical connection that was increasingly rare among its contemporaries. Despite its more refined interior compared to previous generations, it remains a stiffly sprung, focused performance tool designed for maximum grip in all conditions.
