About the Sauber C34
Launched online on 30 January 2015, the C34 was designed under chief designer Eric Gandelin and used a customer Ferrari 060 power unit. It was raced by Marcus Ericsson and Felipe Nasr, whose arrival brought sponsorship from Banco do Brasil and a new blue and white livery. The car was a big step up from the pointless C33, and both drivers scored in the opening round in Australia, with Nasr fifth and Ericsson eighth. The team's financial problems slowed development as the season went on, but a later aerodynamic package with a shorter nose helped, and Sauber finished eighth in the Constructors' Championship with 36 points.
