About the Sauber C32
Designed by Matt Morris, Pierre Waché and Willem Toet and powered by a customer Ferrari V8, the C32 was Sauber's car for the 2013 season. Nico Hülkenberg joined from Force India alongside debutant Esteban Gutiérrez. Its unusually narrow sidepods grew out of Sergio Pérez's 2011 Monaco crash, in which a side-on impact crushed the sidepod, although packaging the car's internals around them proved harder than expected. After a slow start the car came good, with Hülkenberg qualifying third and finishing fifth at Monza, and Sauber scored 50 of its 57 points in the second part of the season to finish seventh.
