About the Plymouth Prowler
The Plymouth Prowler was a daring design experiment by Chrysler, intended to revitalise the brand with a retro-styled roadster inspired by 1930s hot rods. While the initial 1997 model was criticised for its modest output, the 1999 update introduced a more potent 253 hp aluminium-block V6 that significantly improved performance. Its unique construction features an adhesive-bonded aluminium chassis and open front wheels, though the lack of a V8 and a mandatory automatic transmission remain points of debate among enthusiasts. Despite these compromises, it remains a striking piece of automotive sculpture with a dedicated following.
