About the Nissan President 250

The second-generation Nissan President (250 series) was the pinnacle of Japanese luxury, designed to transport government officials and industrial titans in absolute silence. Introduced in 1973, it featured a formal, upright aesthetic with an extended rear overhang to provide cavernous legroom for rear passengers. The 4.4-litre Y44 V8 engine was specifically developed for smoothness rather than speed, paired with a column-shifted automatic transmission. While the Toyota Century was its primary rival, the President offered a distinctively American-influenced take on the luxury limousine, complete with wool upholstery and advanced rear-seat climate controls.
