About the Nissan Figaro

The Nissan Figaro is the most famous of the 'Pike Factory' cars, a series of retro-styled vehicles built on the K10 Micra platform. Introduced at the 1989 Tokyo Motor Show under the slogan 'Back to the Future', its design draws heavily from 1950s European microcars and the 1935 Datsun Roadster. It features a unique fixed-profile convertible roof where the fabric centre retracts while the side pillars remain in place. Despite its vintage appearance, it is powered by a modern-for-the-time 1.0-litre turbocharged engine and was originally sold exclusively in Japan via a lottery system due to overwhelming demand.
