About the Nissan Be-1
The Nissan Be-1 was the first of the four 'Pike Factory' cars, designed to bring a sense of 'coziness' and retro charm to the Japanese market. Based on the K10-generation Nissan March (Micra) chassis, it features a distinctive rounded aesthetic inspired by the classic Mini and Renault Dauphine. Its production was strictly limited to 10,000 units, all of which were sold via a lottery system due to overwhelming demand. While its 1.0-litre engine offers modest performance, the Be-1 is celebrated for its postmodern design and role in sparking the retro-car trend of the 1990s.
