About the Mitsubishi Lancer A70

The A70 Lancer was Mitsubishi's first global compact success, bridging the gap between the tiny Minica and the larger Galant. While the 1.6 GLX was a mid-range trim, it shared the robust rear-wheel-drive architecture and 'coke-bottle' styling that made the Lancer a dominant force in international rallying. The 4G32 'Saturn' engine provided reliable, punchy performance for its era, earning the model a reputation for durability. Today, the A70 is highly prized by JDM collectors as the mechanical ancestor to the legendary Lancer Evolution series.
