About the Mitsubishi Endeavor
Launched for the 2004 model year, the Endeavor was the first vehicle developed under Mitsubishi's 'Project America' initiative, designed specifically for the North American market rather than being adapted from a global platform. It shared its PS platform with the Galant and Eclipse, offering a car-like unibody construction that provided better on-road manners than the truck-based Montero Sport it replaced. The 3.8-litre 6G75 V6 engine was praised for its low-end torque, though the four-speed automatic was considered dated even at launch. Despite a bold, flared-fender design inspired by the 1999 SSU concept, sales never met Mitsubishi's 80,000-unit annual target, leading to its eventual discontinuation in 2011.

Mitsubishi Endeavor fun facts
- The Endeavor was manufactured exclusively at Mitsubishi's Diamond-Star Motors plant in Normal, Illinois.
- Its design was heavily influenced by the 1999 Mitsubishi SSU concept car, which featured similar muscular wheel arches and a geometric profile.
- Though it looks like a rugged off-roader, the Endeavor was strictly a crossover intended for pavement, lacking a low-range transfer case even in AWD form.
