About the Mitsubishi 3000GT
The 1994 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 marked the introduction of the 'Series 2' facelift, replacing pop-up headlights with fixed projector units and upgrading the powertrain to a Getrag 6-speed manual. It was a technological showcase, featuring full-time all-wheel drive, four-wheel steering, active aerodynamics, and electronically controlled suspension. While heavier than its contemporary rivals like the Mazda RX-7 or Toyota Supra, the VR-4 offered immense all-weather grip and high-speed stability. Today, it is highly regarded by collectors for its complex engineering and status as one of the 'big four' Japanese sports cars of the 1990s.
