About the Messerschmitt KR200

Designed by aircraft engineer Fritz Fend, the Messerschmitt KR200 was born from a post-war ban on German aircraft production. Its distinctive plexiglass bubble canopy and tandem seating arrangement directly reflect its aeronautical heritage, offering a fighter-pilot-like view of the road. The car features a unique 'dual-mode' ignition system that allows the two-stroke engine to run in reverse, providing four reverse gears. Despite its modest 10 hp output, its light weight and aerodynamic shape allow it to reach speeds over 60 mph, making it one of the most successful microcars of its era.
