About the Mercedes-Benz 250 W114

The W114, nicknamed 'Strich Acht' (Stroke Eight) for its 1968 launch year, was the first all-new post-war Mercedes-Benz chassis. Designed by Paul Bracq, it introduced a sophisticated semi-trailing arm rear suspension that set the standard for the brand's handling for decades. The 250 trim featured a smooth 2.5-litre straight-six engine, offering a refined alternative to the four-cylinder W115 models. Renowned for over-engineered build quality, these cars are highly regarded by collectors for their reliability and timeless, understated elegance.
