About the Mercedes-AMG SLK 55 Black Series R171
The SLK 55 Black Series was the first production model from the AMG Performance Studio, launching the now-legendary 'Black Series' sub-brand. It transformed the standard SLK 55 roadster into a focused track tool by replacing the heavy folding Vario-roof with a fixed carbon-fibre unit and adding wider carbon-fibre front wings. The naturally aspirated 5.4-litre M113 V8 was tuned to 400 PS, exhaling through a revised exhaust system that remains one of AMG's most vocal. With a production run of just 120 units, it is the rarest of all Black Series models and a cornerstone for modern Mercedes-AMG collectors.
