About the McLaren Speedtail
The Speedtail is the spiritual successor to the McLaren F1, featuring the same iconic three-seat central driving position and a production run limited to 106 units. Designed as a 'Hyper-GT', it prioritises aerodynamic efficiency and high-speed stability over track-focused downforce, resulting in a dramatic teardrop silhouette. Its hybrid powertrain combines a 4.0-litre V8 with a high-performance electric motor to reach a top speed of 250 mph. Notable innovations include flexible carbon-fibre active ailerons and retractable digital cameras in place of traditional wing mirrors.

McLaren Speedtail rarity in CarSpot
The McLaren Speedtail is a Unicorn card in CarSpot, with a rarity score of 100 out of 100. The rarest tier: hypercars, one-offs and cars built in tiny numbers, typically fewer than about 500. A Unicorn card is worth 320 XP.
Each model's tier starts from a 0–100 score based on its value plus its power or production numbers. Once enough players have spotted a model, how often it is spotted can move it up or down one tier. How CarSpot rarity works
Rarity is a collectible game mechanic, not an assessment of real-world scarcity or value.
McLaren Speedtail fun facts
- The Speedtail features flexible carbon-fibre 'ailerons' that physically bend to adjust aerodynamics, eliminating the need for traditional hinges or shutlines.
- In 'Velocity Mode', the car lowers itself by 35mm and retracts its digital side-view cameras to achieve its 403 km/h top speed.
- Because it lacks side-mounted airbags and traditional mirrors, the Speedtail is not fully street-legal in the US and must be imported under 'Show or Display' exemptions.
