About the SSC Ultimate Aero
The 2006 SSC Ultimate Aero was the production-ready evolution of Jerod Shelby's ambitious project to build the world's fastest car. Utilising a 6.3-litre supercharged V8 based on the Corvette C5-R block, it delivered over 1,000 hp in a lightweight carbon-fibre and titanium chassis. Unlike its European rivals, the Ultimate Aero eschewed electronic driver aids like ABS and traction control, demanding immense skill to handle its raw power. This supercharged version paved the way for the twin-turbocharged TT model that would eventually claim the Guinness World Record in 2007.
