About the McLaren GT
Launched in 2019, the McLaren GT was designed to challenge traditional front-engined grand tourers like the Bentley Continental GT and Aston Martin DB11. It utilizes a unique 'MonoCell II-T' carbon fibre monocoque, where the 'T' stands for Touring, incorporating a rear upper structure that allows for a 420-litre luggage bay beneath a glazed tailgate. While it shares the M840T engine block with the 720S, its M840TE variant features smaller turbochargers for better low-end responsiveness suited to long-distance cruising. The interior emphasizes luxury over track-focused minimalism, featuring soft-grain leather and optional cashmere upholstery, yet it retains the hydraulic steering and mid-engined agility characteristic of the Woking marque.
