About the Kia Sorento UM
The third-generation Kia Sorento (UM) marked a significant step upmarket for the brand, offering a more premium interior and improved refinement to compete with established European rivals. In the UK, the 2.2-litre CRDi diesel engine was the sole powertrain, providing ample torque for towing and long-distance cruising. The KX-2 trim sits in the middle of the range, balancing essential luxuries like leather upholstery and heated seats with a competitive price point. While not a dedicated off-roader, its intelligent all-wheel-drive system and seven-seat practicality made it a favourite for active families.
