About the Kia Clarus

The Kia Clarus, also known as the Credos in its home market, represented Kia's attempt to compete in the European D-segment during the late 1990s. It was developed using the platform of the Mazda 626 (GE), benefiting from Japanese engineering underpinnings but offered at a significantly lower price point. The 2.0 SX trim featured a Mazda-derived FE-DOHC engine, providing respectable performance for a budget saloon. While it lacked the refinement and brand prestige of its European rivals, it was noted for its spacious interior and generous equipment levels.
