About the Citroën C4 X
The Citroën C4 X is a unique 'cross-sedan' that bridges the gap between a traditional four-door saloon and a compact SUV. Launched in late 2022, it extends the standard C4 hatchback's rear by 240mm to create a sleek fastback profile and a significantly larger 510-litre boot. It prioritises ride quality above all else, featuring Citroën's Progressive Hydraulic Cushions suspension and 'Advanced Comfort' seats to deliver a class-leading supple ride. The PureTech 130 variant uses the ubiquitous Stellantis 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine paired exclusively with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, offering a relaxed and efficient driving experience suited for long-distance cruising.

Citroën C4 X fun facts
- Despite its SUV-like ride height and plastic cladding, the C4 X is technically a saloon because it has a fixed rear window and a separate boot lid rather than a hatchback.
- The C4 X was designed to appeal to markets where traditional saloons remain popular, such as the Middle East and Africa, while offering the high seating position European buyers crave.
- The car's 'Progressive Hydraulic Cushions' system uses two hydraulic stops—one for compression and one for decompression—to eliminate the 'bouncy' feel of traditional suspensions.
