About the Kia Cerato TD
The TD-generation Cerato, also known as the Forte in North America, represented a significant leap forward for Kia under the design leadership of Peter Schreyer. It replaced the soft, rounded lines of its predecessor with a 'Tiger Nose' grille and a more athletic, wedge-shaped profile. While primarily built as an affordable commuter, it offered a much stiffer chassis and better equipment levels than previous Korean offerings. The 1.6-litre Gamma engine provided adequate performance for urban environments, though it lacked the refinement of its contemporary Japanese rivals.
