Jaguar R3

Jaguar's troubled 2002 car, rescued late in the year when Eddie Irvine took the team's final podium at Monza.

805 bhp

About the Jaguar R3

The R3 was launched on 4 January 2002 and raced by Eddie Irvine and Pedro de la Rosa, with an R3B version used from the British Grand Prix onwards. Designed around Texaco fuel, it had to be recalibrated at short notice for BP fuel and Castrol lubricants after Chevron's sudden withdrawal from the sport. The team admitted to errors in its wind tunnel work, and after a fortunate fourth place in Australia, poor reliability and a lack of power dropped it down the order. Late upgrades improved the car, and Irvine's podium at Monza helped Jaguar to seventh in the constructors' championship with eight points, all scored by him.
