About the Hyundai Staria
Launched in 2021 as the successor to the long-running Starex/i800, the Hyundai Staria represents a radical departure in MPV design. Its 'inside-out' design philosophy prioritises cabin space and visibility, resulting in a striking silhouette with a massive glasshouse and a distinctive full-width LED light bar. Built on the N3 platform shared with the Santa Fe, it offers a more car-like driving experience than its commercial-van predecessors. The 2.2-litre CRDi diesel engine provides steady, torque-rich progress suitable for its role as a high-capacity family hauler or luxury shuttle.

Hyundai Staria fun facts

- Despite its futuristic appearance, it is a direct mechanical relative of the Kia Carnival, sharing the same front-wheel-drive architecture.
- The name 'Staria' is a portmanteau of the words 'star' and 'ria', the latter referring to a long narrow inlet formed by the partial submergence of a river valley.
