About the Ford Probe

The second-generation Ford Probe was the result of a joint venture with Mazda, sharing its G-platform and silky-smooth 2.5-litre V6 with the MX-6. Originally intended to replace the Mustang, it was rebranded as a standalone model after a fierce backlash from enthusiasts who demanded a rear-wheel-drive V8 pony car. The Probe is celebrated for its aerodynamic 'cab-forward' styling, pop-up headlights, and surprisingly sharp handling. While long overlooked, it is now gaining traction as a modern classic due to its refined Japanese mechanicals and distinctive nineties aesthetic.
