About the Ford Model F

The Ford Model F was the final and most refined of Henry Ford's early twin-cylinder automobiles before the company transitioned to four-cylinder engines. Introduced in 1905 as a larger and more luxurious successor to the Model C, it featured a side-entrance tonneau body and was the first Ford to include running boards as standard. Its horizontally opposed engine was mounted under the seat, driving the rear wheels via a chain and a two-speed planetary transmission. While it was a successful seller for the young company, it was eventually phased out in 1906 to make way for the four-cylinder Model N and the flagship Model K.
