About the Fiat Idea

Launched in 2003, the Fiat Idea was the Italian marque's entry into the mini-MPV segment, sharing its platform with the second-generation Punto. Designed by Fabrizio Giugiaro at Italdesign, it prioritised interior space and flexibility within a footprint under four metres long, featuring a high H-point and sliding, reclining rear seats. The 1.4-litre 16-valve FIRE engine provided a balance of efficiency and adequate performance for city driving. While it was eventually succeeded by the 500L, the Idea remains a practical example of Fiat's expertise in small-car packaging.
