About the Fiat Brava 182
Launched in 1995 as the five-door counterpart to the sportier three-door Bravo, the Fiat Brava was designed to replace the aging Tipo with a focus on aerodynamics and distinctive styling. Its most recognizable feature is the trio of slim, horizontal rear light bars, a bold departure from conventional 1990s design. The 1.6-litre 16-valve 'Torque' engine provided a balance of rev-happy Italian character and everyday usability. While it won the European Car of the Year award in 1996, surviving examples are now rare due to typical period Fiat reliability and corrosion issues, making well-preserved cars a nostalgic choice for modern classic enthusiasts.

Fiat Brava 182 fun facts
- The Brava and its sibling, the Bravo, were the first cars to win the European Car of the Year award for a manufacturer in two consecutive years, following the Fiat Punto's win in 1995.
- Despite sharing the same front end and interior as the Bravo, the Brava featured a completely different rear bodywork and a longer wheelbase to improve passenger space.
- The 1.6-litre engine used in this trim was nicknamed the 'Torque' engine because it was designed to deliver better low-end pull than previous Fiat multi-valve units.
