About the Fiat Albea

The Fiat Albea was a subcompact sedan developed as part of Fiat's 'Project 178' world car initiative, primarily targeting Eastern Europe, Turkey, and Russia. Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Italdesign, it offered a more cohesive three-box silhouette than many of its budget-focused rivals. The 1.2-litre 8-valve engine was the entry-level choice, prioritising mechanical simplicity and fuel economy over outright performance. While never sold in Western Europe, it became a common sight in markets like Turkey and Romania due to its massive 515-litre boot and robust suspension tuned for rougher roads.
