About the Ferrari 599 GTO
The Ferrari 599 GTO (Gran Turismo Omologato) was the third car in the marque's history to wear the legendary badge, following the 250 GTO and 288 GTO. Developed as a road-going version of the track-only 599XX experimental car, it features a high-output V12 derived from the Enzo and a lightened chassis that sheds 100kg over the standard GTB. Its performance was record-breaking at launch, lapping the Fiorano circuit in 1 minute 24 seconds—faster than the Enzo. Collectors prize the GTO for its raw, visceral driving experience, aggressive aerodynamics, and status as one of the last great naturally aspirated V12 Ferraris.

Ferrari 599 GTO fun facts
- The 599 GTO features 'wheel doughnuts'—carbon-fibre discs outside the brake rotors that reduce drag and improve cooling by keeping hot air close to the body.
- At the time of its release, it was the fastest road car Ferrari had ever produced, surpassing the Enzo's lap time at the Fiorano test track by one second.
- The GTO's F1 SuperFast gearbox can execute shifts in just 60 milliseconds, which was 40 milliseconds faster than the standard 599 GTB Fiorano.
