About the Ferrari 456 GT
Unveiled at the 1992 Paris Motor Show, the 456 GT marked Ferrari's return to the classic front-engined V12 2+2 format after a three-year hiatus following the 412. Its Pininfarina-designed bodywork, featuring pop-up headlights and a carbon-fibre bonnet, was a modern homage to the 365 GTB/4 Daytona. The all-new 65-degree V12 engine was paired with a rear-mounted transaxle for near-perfect weight distribution, making it the fastest four-seater in the world at launch. Collectors prize the original GT for its gated six-speed manual transmission and understated, timeless aesthetic.
